Position Overview: This is an entry to mid-level position responsible for managing the environmental program for a fuel retail company, focusing on compliance with state and federal regulations, spill preventions, and remediation of spills onsite if applicable. The ideal candidate will develop, implement and maintain systems and procedures necessary to ensure the protection of the environment and a positive compliance stance with regulatory agencies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Under limited supervision, coordinates company-wide environmental compliance efforts
- Serves as the company’s liaison with the regulatory authorities to acquire information on all environmental issues, technologies, and regulations
- Conducts required environmental tests, analyses and observations, evaluates results, and makes recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental policies, plans, and procedures
- Develop and conduct training for company personnel as needed on environmental matters
- Drive continuous improvement programs and work with appropriate personnel to reach those goals of improvement.
- Perform internal onsite inspections and environmental testing
- Prepare and submit regulatory compliance reports to compliance divisions
- Maintain records system to ensure compliance with all government regulations and company policy’s
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Experience working in a labor intensive position Valid Driver s License required. Must be willing to travel on short notice Must be able to use hand tools, power tools and wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., stoop, crawl, bend, push, pull and walk on uneven terrain or slippery conditions. Must be able to work in undesirable conditions, including inclement weather while being exposed to dust, fumes, dirt, heat, cold, noise, vibrations . |
