Conducts academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others.

Research Associate
CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Reporting to the Chair of NOAA CREST in Grove School of Engineering at the City College of New York, the Research Associate will function as a key member in a School of Engineering Research Center (CREST Institute) to assist faculty, staff and students in conducting research and lead research efforts to support the scientific works for research purposes in the fields of environmental remote sensing and related data science and management. The successful candidate will also coordinate technical activities with respect to satellite and field data acquisitions, data networking, data science, analysis, visualization, compression and storage.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Ecology, or other environmental fields related to research, modeling and environmental computational analysis
- Significant research experience and proven track record in peer reviewed publications, presentations, etc.
- Past experience participating in large interdisciplinary research programs; multi-tasking abilities; excellent communication skills (oral and written) and computer literacy in MS Office
- City College experience preferred
