Emerging Technologies for Environmental Intelligence.
The Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites (CICS) hosted this year's NOAA NESDIS Cooperative Research Program (CoRP) Science Symposium at the University of Maryland on September 16 and 17, 2015.
The CoRP Science Symposium utilizes significant STAR, NOAA and University/Academia efforts to further remote sensing research and applications. The Symposium targets multidisciplinary research with a focus on early-career scientists and is part of a larger strategy to promote federal and academic partnerships.
The purpose of this two-day workshop is to highlight research and application development within NESDIS and its Cooperative Institutes and Cooperative Science Center which includes — CIMSS, CIRA, CICS (CICS-MD & CICS-NC) andNOAA-CREST.
The main audience is comprised of students (graduate and undergraduate) and early career scientists. Out of this, 42 attendees were from NOAA CREST Center. 3 CREST Students won the best paper award. Equisha Glenn CREST- City College(poster), Ariana Atwell from CREST - hampton University (Oral presentation), Estefania Alvarez from CREST-UPRM (poster).
