Posted on September 2, 2011

Following a successful review late last Fall (2010) by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET),  the Earth System Science and Environmental Engineering Program, CREST's formal undergraduate education program has been accredited for the full six years, and further, the accreditation is retroactive to October 2009.

The Earth System Science & Environment Engineering Program at the City College of New York was designed and implemented under NOAA EPP support. The program marks it's accreditation within three years of implementation, a true accomplishment of the many CREST faculty and staff members gave their best efforts to accomplish the program's status.

About the CUNY Earth System Science & Environmental Engineering Program

Students follow a rigorous core that combines the basic engineering requirements with a thorough scientific foundation. Flexibility is achieved by choosing courses of interest from a large number of electives. Upper level students are strongly encouraged to engage in cutting-edge ongoing research at CCNY as well as industrial partners and federal and local agencies through internships. Placement assistance is provided through the program.

Many EESS/ESE graduates continue to graduate school or to careers with our industry partners and government agencies.

C. Function effectively in multi-disciplinary endeavors especially between engineering and the sciences.
D. Progress to positions of leadership
