CREST Summer Programs set to Launch


In keeping with the CREST tradition of exciting, learning-based, activities-filled summers, CREST  
is launching Summer '12, beginning June 7 at CREST Institute at the City College of New York.  
Summer officially kicks off with an overall accepted Summer student orientation, and continues 
with the unique blend of traditional classroom learning, extensive laboratory experimentation 
projects, and “in the field” hands-on learning for students to make progress in  beginning 
their STEM education.  This amazing opportunity lies in the suite of CREST Institute summer 
programs, which include:

* Earth Science and Environmental Sustainability Graduate Initiative (ESES) & New York City
Department of Education (NYCDOE) program 
* Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) & National Science Foundation (NSF) program
* Continuous Innovative Learning Environments in STEM (CILES) & NYCDOE
* CREST Summer High School Internship Program (SHIP) program
* Bernard Harris Middle School Camp/CREST-CEPS program
* High School Weather Camp/CREST program
* Early Career Exchange Program with National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) & the
National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) program

* Other CREST Institute partner programs are - Opportunities for Enhancing Diversity in the Geosciences  (OEDG), CUNY Science Undergraduate Research Program (CSURP), Mid Infrared Technologies for Health & Environment (MIRTHE), New York City Research Initiative (NYCRI), & Curriculum Improvements Partnership Award for the Integration of Research (CIPAIR).
