Dr. Mary Kicza Speaks at CUNY Women in Science Event

Dr. Mary Kicza, the NOAA Assistant Administrator for Satellite and Information Services, was an invited speaker to the CUNY Women in Science Event held at the CUNY Graduate Center.

9:00 am: Welcome and Introductions

Gillian Small, Vice Chancellor for Research, The City University of New York

9:30 am: Keynote speaker

Jill Tarter, Director of the Center for SETI Research and Bernard Oliver Chair for SETI at the SETI Institute

Dr. Tarter will speak for about 20 minutes then she will be interviewed by Claudia Dreifus, New York Times science reporter and co-author with Andrew Hacker of Higher Education.

10:45 am: Break

11:00 am: Science in Academe

Panel of women scientists from the City University of New York, from various disciplines, and at different stages in their careers
