Podcast - Dr. Gonzales shares expertise with ASME

In this interview, Professor Jorge E. González, NOAA CREST professor of mechanical engineering at The City College of New York (CUNY), discusses trends in environmental monitoring and modeling.

Dr. González earned his doctorate and bachelor degrees in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez, respectively. He joined CUNY in 2008 after tenures at Santa Clara University, California, as professor and David Packard Scholar, and as chairman and professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez.

A Puerto Rican native, Dr. González teaches and conducts research in renewable energy, environmental sustainability, climate change, climate modeling, urban remote sensing and low energy buildings. He is well recognized in the field of urban climatology and remote sensing in renewable energy and heat transfer. Dr. Gonzalez is also a Fellow of the ASME and former Chair of the Solar Energy Division.
