Posted on October 24, 2011

Yanelly Molina, one of CREST’s new students is a promising, talented and ambitious student who joined

NOAA-CREST this Fall as a second degree Mechanical Engineering student after graduating with a Political Science degree. With her past experiences in the field of social, political and economic issues that
influence people’s their daily lives, Yanelly feels very confident to tackle her transition to a new
research domain in the engineering fields. Her strong commitment to her studies has been noticed; she
recently became a member of the national engineering honors society, Tau Beta Pi, and has been scheduled  to present her work at the 2012 American Meteorological Society Annual Conference and has received an award
to present at the 2012 Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in Atlanta, GA.

Yanelly is working  under the guidance of Dr. Jorge Gonzalez, a NOAA-CREST Professor of Mechanical Engineering and she is  indeed a role model and a true NOAA-CREST Student Ambassador not only for the CREST student community but  also the entire City College of New York.
