Hudson River Park and the New York Hall of Science present SUBMERGE– a FREE, day-long science extravaganza devoted to raising awareness about our coastal waters. Celebrate local marine science through hands-on science activities, catch-and-release fishing, science stage events, kayaking and more! Interactive demonstrations will bring marine science and engineering topics to life, inspiring audiences of all ages.
NOAA-CREST Center will participate in the event and showcase hands-on activities to reflect NOAA Marine and Oceanic Science and raise public awareness. 37 (thirty seven) other research and education organizations will participate in this city wide event - including COSEE, NY Hall of Science, NY and several other CUNY colleges.
Dr. Richard Spinard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Chief Scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). will be one of the three featured guest for the event. and will be interviewed by the WBUR’s You’re The Expert radio show host, Chris Duffy.
