Macarena, is a doctoral student at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, in the Applied Marine Physics division. She is working under the supervision of Dr. Hans Graber, Her research area lies in the polar regions. Specifically, understanding the physics of sea-ice and the thermodynamics of the cryosphere in general through the use of remote sensing and in-situ measurements. Her research involves Remote Sensing science and technology - something that she was trained and studied as a NOAA-CREST graduate student at the City College of CUNY.
